El Muerto Danzante / The Dancing Dead

6"x9" Sepia ink and watercolor on tea stained watercolor paper.

And it is done! Fun way to spend my spare time today. Thanks to everyone who gave me feed back on possible translations. It wasn't the easiest. There sure were a lot of options.

As for the little phrase, I made that up today - or at least I hope I did. One never knows what creeps into the brain and comes out like an idea. Google at least was without hits.

Happy Halloween!

Thanks! And thanks again for asking around on a translation. It's pretty incredible how many ways I might have said "The Dancing Dead". Makes me appreciate the work of translators.

*laughing* No problem! If you'd stuck with English, you could've said The Cadaver Can-Can, or The Skeleton Salsa, or The Morgue Meringue, or the Mausoleum Mambo! (Or...you know, The Dancing Dead is an option too!) :)

Nice piece! Could also have been "el muerto bailando!" ;)

Anyway, hey, my name's Phil. I found your tea staining tutorial through google; I used it for a piece I just made, and ended up expanding on it a bit by soaking my tea bags in water with india ink in it and applying the color that way.

It worked great, thanks so much for sharing it!

Thanks, and you're welcome! I'm glad you were able to put the tutorial to use - and expand on it too. Good idea using the tea to be a carrier for the ink.
